The Regional Council of Sr. Maria met at the Regional House Azhakiyamandapam in April 2000 and discused the possibility of starting a Prayer Bhavan cum Formation house in the Region.  His Excellency Mar George Alencherry suggested to consruct the prayer Bhavan in the property of one and half acres of land belonging to San Thom Convent Mezhakode.  Bishop Hippolitus Kunnunkal laid the foundation stone on 10-05-2000.  The construction work was completed within one year.  On 15th October 2001 the building was blessed and inaugurated by His Excellency Mar George Alencherry.  On the same day he inaugurated the adoration programme by conducting one hour adoration in the chepel.  Every day adoration of the blessed sacrament is conducted from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.  Every year one sister takes leave from the apostolic field and spend one year for prayer and adoration at this centre.  Sisters of the province spend their one week prayer at this Prayer Bhavan.
